In this report I will tell you about my experiences with the "Jebao AL 150 LED". Since the actual added value of this LED is based on the biology and biophysics of corals, I would first like to take you into the world of light and show you which basic conditions characterise a good LED from the coral's point of view. We were on the road again and were able to visit the brand new specialist shop Reef Monkeys in Hofheim am Taunus. Matze took us on a guided tour of the entire beautifully designed saltwater shop, which will celebrate its opening on 29.02.2020. Of course, our focus was once again on the VIDEO documentation.
Sometimes the day comes when you have to part with a fish. Be it because it goes for corals, or because fish just don't get along with each other, or as in our case, that a fish is too big for the aquarium. This is especially noticeable in the case of doctors because of the restless behaviour that then occurs. The best way to deal with this is with a so-called fish trap. After quite a long time, we were drawn back to Coburg, more precisely to Ebersdorf, to the company Korallen-Zucht. The weather played along, so we had a stress-free journey. Now it had hit us. The red Montipora, which had grown so well, showed pale colours and the first dead areas, preferably at the edges. You search and search and often only late come to the last possibility, namely that it is a predator that is attacking this beautiful coral. The certainty was there, we have Montipora snails! NEW VIDEO 13.11 the video of the trade fair overview. The first fair was already a mega success and the second time should be no different. This fair is worth going to for many reasons. 1. a great selection of corals and also very rare corals, 2. a great lecture programme with international speakers. Our aquarium has now been in place for 14 months and the first corals are bumping into each other. Some get along quite well, but some don't get along at all.
