Maybe some of you know Immo Gerber through his YT channel Area 51. There is now a completely new format - the Nachtschicht or Nightshift. Currently the first and only seawater boulevard magazine! The highlight of Nightshift is, by the way. The guest has to name the next guest.
We were already drawn to Achim Kahlert at the end of February. He has been a seawater aquarist for many years and breeds one or two animals. For example, he has already succeeded in breeding the tang filefish. But this is only a part of what he has already achieved with fish. Just have a look and enjoy the video.
You know how it is. We are always drawn to aquarists to learn more about their reef aquariums. And so it was to a really great saltwater aquarium which has approx. 560 litres (with filter compartment).
Once again we visited a specialist shop, Fish and More. A specialist shop for saltwater, freshwater and pond aquaristics that does things differently from the way we know them. The result is a comprehensive video. Enjoy 36 minutes of seawater in Siegerland.
In this report I will tell you about my experiences with the "Jebao AL 150 LED". Since the actual added value of this LED is based on the biology and biophysics of corals, I would first like to take you into the world of light and show you which basic conditions characterise a good LED from the coral's point of view. We were on the road again and were able to visit the brand new specialist shop Reef Monkeys in Hofheim am Taunus. Matze took us on a guided tour of the entire beautifully designed saltwater shop, which will celebrate its opening on 29.02.2020. Of course, our focus was once again on the VIDEO documentation.
Sometimes the day comes when you have to part with a fish. Be it because it goes for corals, or because fish just don't get along with each other, or as in our case, that a fish is too big for the aquarium. This is especially noticeable in the case of doctors because of the restless behaviour that then occurs. The best way to deal with this is with a so-called fish trap. After quite a long time, we were drawn back to Coburg, more precisely to Ebersdorf, to the company Korallen-Zucht. The weather played along, so we had a stress-free journey. Now it had hit us. The red Montipora, which had grown so well, showed pale colours and the first dead areas, preferably at the edges. You search and search and often only late come to the last possibility, namely that it is a predator that is attacking this beautiful coral. The certainty was there, we have Montipora snails!
