With qualified media partners and the industry's leading exhibitors, the largest fish trade fair in southern Germany presents the entire spectrum of the underwater world. With the combination of purchasing and event, the AQUA-FISCH has been a successful and integral part of the Friedrichshafen trade fair family for years and convinces with its concept. In 2019, 175 exhibitors on an area of more than 16,000 square metres provided a great shopping experience that was very well received by the 21,230 trade fair visitors.
The season kicks off with Aqua-Fisch from 3 to 5 March - Supporting programme offers fin fun for youngsters - New: World's largest fly-fishing film festival
The fascination of fish for young and old
24.02.2023
Friedrichshafen - When guppies cavort next to fighting fish and fishing rods are cast out in the exhibition halls, it's Aqua-Fisch time. Over 100 exhibitors will present the latest offers and trends from 3 to 5 March 2023. Many areas invite visitors to get active themselves. "Lecture forums with top-class speakers, demonstrations, two large pools and the show kitchen ensure a lively environment. After a three-year break from Corona, Aqua-Fisch will finally become a platform for exchange and networking again. Numerous hands-on activities are the hub for children and families," emphasises project manager Petra Rathgeber. New are the screenings of the "RISE Fly Fishing Film Festival 2023" with breathtaking nature footage of fly fishing.
Fans of aquatic creatures will find a wide-ranging supporting programme at Aqua-Fisch alongside numerous show tanks with freshwater and saltwater fish, with demo pools to encourage them to get involved. Hall A7 will be the centre of attraction for angling and fly-fishing enthusiasts. At the fly fishing pool of the European Fly Fishing Association (EFFA) and the demo pool, visitors will be able to take up rod and lure themselves. Here, among other things, flies can be tied and fishing techniques tried out. Those looking for new impulses and tips can look over the shoulders of fly fishing professionals like Igor and Nadica Stancev. Skill is required for precision casting in the casting area of the Landesfischereiverband (LFV) Baden-Württemberg. The cooking show brings fresh fish to the table: Manuela Heigle demonstrates how to make char particularly tasty, followed by a tasting. Less delicious, but just as instructive, are the lectures at the angling forum. Experts will be on hand to answer questions about fishing methods and trips. A special experience is the "RISE Fly Fishing Film Festival 2023" on the Saturday of the fair from 3 pm. The world's largest film festival of its kind will bring a total of four fly-fishing adventures to the big screen for an extra fee of €5.
Fish and reptiles invite you to a colourful paradise
In Hall B5, aquarium and terrarium fans will feel as comfortable as a fish in water. On the podium of the Aquarium Forum, lectures - among others by the Guppy Friends Germany, the Black Forest Shrimps and the Association of German Aquariums - provide new impulses on water values, breeding and the right food. Newcomers should make a note of Clarissa Rosenbeck's lecture: she will show why the cute land hermit crabs are suitable as an introduction to the hobby. Anyone looking for the right fish for their home tank will find what they are looking for at the exchange of the Multicolor Ailingen aquarium club. At the Betta Helvetia stand, fighter fish lovers can exchange information on keeping and buy or bid for a new gem for their aquarium. In addition, anyone interested can find out more about setting up a fighting fish tank in a species-appropriate way from aquascaping expert Volker Jochum, who will be designing a nano tank live on site.
Who, how, what? Activities for the young
At the children's rally, kids will look for and find the answers to questions about the Aqua-Fisch theme worlds. During the interactive tour through the exhibition halls, the youngsters will not only learn who the fish of the year is, but will also take up the fishing rod themselves. How the water habitat can be gently explored is the topic of "Fish on Tour". With the research utensils and materials of the LFV, children become little scientists. Young fish fans will learn what makes guppies, crayfish and co. happy at the workshops by bestselling author Alexandra Behrendt and dive straight into the world of aquariums. Another big attraction for families is the stand of the Reptilienfreunde Oberschwaben with a wide range of terrariums and animals to touch.
Aqua-Fisch 2023 will be open on Friday, 3 March, and Saturday, 4 March, from 9 am to 6 pm and on Sunday, 5 March from 9 am to 5 pm. The day ticket costs twelve euros online, 16 euros on site. Children and young people pay seven and ten euros respectively. The family ticket costs 29 euros online.
