From Coral Reef Magazine Issue 1, April 2020 Crustose anemones (order Zoantharia) are extremely popular with both experienced aquarists and beginners. The small colourful polyps come in an almost infinite variety of colours and are usually very easy to keep and propagate in the aquarium.
Despite using dead rock, we now have the first glass lice in the aquarium after about 4 months (as of November). In addition, there are a few planaria, although the correct name is turbellaria. They were probably brought in with bought offshoots. In spite of all efforts to examine the corals, some of them managed to establish themselves in the 400 litre tank. We show how to deal with them, but also name animal enemies and their advantages and disadvantages.
Colourful crustose anemones have found many fans in recent years. However, there are always problems with the identification of the species, often Zoanthus is confused with Palythoa, and the fantasy names of the trade do the rest.
