Interzoo
Wiesbaden/Bologna - Worldwide interest in the upcoming Interzoo 2022 at the NürnbergMesse exhibition centre is strong: A large part of the space on offer has already been allocated, reports the organiser Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft Zoologischer Fachbetriebe GmbH (WZF) at a press briefing at the Zoomark International currently taking place in Bologna.
Six months before the start of the exhibition, over 1,050 exhibitors from more than 60 countries have booked around 50,000 square metres of stand space for the next Interzoo in Nuremberg from 24 to 27 May. The interest of start-ups is also pleasing: the Young Innovative Companies joint stand, which is sponsored by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy BMWi, currently has only four places left. But Interzoo also offers a special package deal to start-ups based abroad: With a specially designed pavilion solution, industry newcomers benefit from a convenient opportunity to participate in the world's leading trade fair. Exhibitors from Bulgaria, Finland, Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the Czech Republic have already registered for the international start-up area.
"We are very pleased about the great response to Interzoo, combined with on-site participation," comments Dr. Rowena Arzt, Head of Trade Fairs at WZF. "On the exhibitor side, we expect about the same internationality as at the last Interzoo 2018, and more registrations are continuously coming in. There is also a strong desire on the visitor side to attend in person." Dr Rowena Arzt sees this as confirmation of the Interzoo brand and a positive sign of the continued importance of the trade fair as a medium. As a result of the pandemic, people are also more intensively connected with their pets and more dedicated to the needs of the animals. Accordingly, the market for quality products is booming, which will be reflected at the upcoming Interzoo.
"We are certain that Interzoo 2022 will be the highlight in the calendar of the global pet industry," said WZF/ZZF Managing Director Gordon Bonnet. "As Interzoo 2020 had to be cancelled due to the pandemic, 2018 was the last physical show. And this was the most successful edition in its history. Currently, we are 10 per cent below the booking level of four years ago. In view of the ongoing pandemic, we consider this a top result, which makes us very proud. It makes it clear that the pet industry is eager to meet again and will use Interzoo in Nuremberg for this purpose - to present its innovations haptically, to be inspired by the variety of products, to discover trends and to get in touch with like-minded people. This interaction, combined with the gut feeling of doing the right thing, leads to new ideas and business decisions on a solid basis. This is what makes a trade fair experience and what cannot be designed on the drawing board."
Framework programme and digital servicesIn addition to exhibitors from all over the world, the framework programme will also highlight trends and market developments around the globe with international experts. Interzoo participants can find out more about sustainability and discuss current aspects in specialist lectures. Regional developments and the special features of import and export will be presented within the Interzoo Country Sessions. In addition, there will be further lectures and demonstrations on important current industry topics.
The experiences from Interzoo.digital 2021 will also flow positively into the trade fair planning: The trade fair preparation and customer experience will be supported by new digital enhancements, such as a new versatile trade fair app. "Our goal is to combine the positive elements from the digital world with the physical one, thus making the trade fair experience as convenient and efficient as possible. We are keen to ensure that participants have as much time as possible for face-to-face conversations at the fair, while still allowing for those all-important chance finds and encounters that make trade fairs so different from other formats," says Dr Arzt.
Following Interzoo 2022, as was the case after this year's digital edition, some selected contributions from the supporting programme will be made available online within the Interzoo Academy. With this offer, users will additionally have a year-round and spatially independent source of knowledge in Interzoo quality.
On site, some changes compared to the last event are also planned: The Interzoo Camp, a parking facility for mobile homes outside the gates of Interzoo, is a new participant-friendly offer. For the first time, there will be three entrances to the fair - West, Mitte and Ost - allowing easy and uncomplicated access to the event areas. The Interzoo hygiene concept will carefully take into account the preventive measures that have been in place until now and enable safe participation in the fair.
