New substrate from Red Sea

Red Sea will be launching a new substrate on the market in the next few days. Here you will find the relevant information.

Reef Base, Red Sea's new substrate, will be available in stores from autumn onwards.

Reef Base is an oolitic aragonite sand that is naturally formed in tropical waters off the coast of the Bahamas. Reef Base is formed by the constant natural precipitation of minerals and marine organisms. These are mainly skeletal fragments of foraminifera, calcareous algae, molluscs and crustaceans, as well as dead coral skeletons.

Because of its structure and composition, Reef Base will help maintain a stable pH of 8.2 to 8.3. Available in two different sizes: Ocean White 0.25mm-1mm and Reef Pink 0.5mm-1.5mm.

.

Both variants are available as dry substrate or live sand including useful bacterial cultures.
