Please be sure to read the detailed instructions and information: 1x1 of marine aquaristics !!!
At this point I would like to take the liberty of giving the interested visitor to our homepage (http://www.Korallenriff.de/) some tips on the subject of "Getting started in marine aquaristics". These tips are based on our own experiences that we have made over time. We hope that somemistakes (which we unfortunately also made) can be avoided by you:
.Specialist literature (Bücher)
There are a lot of Bücher on the market that deal with the subject of marine aquaristics. I would particularly like to recommend to you the 6 books by Svein A. Fossa and Alf Jacob Nilsen "CORAL RIVER-AQUARIUM". These books contain a great deal of information about aquariums. More about these excellent books can be found in our book tip. Attention: Volume 1 has already been completely ürevised and republished.
Also quite good is the "Mergus Meerwasseratlas" (several Bände), especially concerning the identification of animals, as well as the book "Riffaquaristik für Einsteiger" by Daniel Knop. The latter is very easy to digest, even for the real newcomer.
The aquarium
The first thing to think about is how many litres the tank should have. I would definitely recommend a tank of at least 300 litres (the bigger the better), otherwise it will be filled up too quickly. A good example that it is also possible to have a smaller tank is Toni's tank (in the aqua picture book) who has been running an 80 litre saltwater tank very successfully for quite some time. [or our 54 L aquariums of the children].
Of course, the prerequisite is always the stocking adapted to the tank size and the corresponding feeding and technology. It is important for a tank to be well glued together. It does not matter so much whether the tank is bead-glued or just butt-glued. Care should be taken that there are no inclusions in the silicone. Since 2002, small nano tanks have become more and more fashionable. However, you should have some experience with this and a second tank, i.e. a large tank, would be an advantage. We advise against starting with a nano tank.
.Now everyone has to decide for himself if he wants to work with a subbasin in the cabinet or not. The advantage is simply that the entire technology is then invisible to the viewer. The disadvantage is simply that you then have to deal with a dwarf. In the meantime, there are also small, powerful skimmers available.
In addition, you either have to work with a borehole in the main basin or with an overflow. Then you also need a strong pump to transport the water back up into the main basin. However, it also works quite well without a lower basin. You can hide the technology (circulation pumps and heater) behind the decoration (stones).
