The cover topic of the 102nd issue of KORALLE is surgeonfish. Eric Cassiano reports exclusively on the world's first breeding of the pallet surgeonfish, which he and his colleagues succeeded in doing. The same species is currently swimming across cinema screens as an animation – we look at possible consequences. We also look at surgeonfish care in the reef tank from different angles. Even in the aquarium, an ugly duckling can become a beautiful swan, as the example of the red algae genus Asparagopsis shows. The underwater world at the south-western tip of the Indonesian giant island of Sulawesi is almost unknown in places. However, it is precisely here that very diverse habitats can be found, and the invertebrate and fish fauna in this area is correspondingly varied.
